GIVE ME MY FREEDOM

The work provides a personal experience of exploring the limits of the body in relation to time through performing small, repetitive tasks, such as repeating the same sentence, attempting to swallow saliva, and adjusting the pitch of the voice each time one returns to the beginning of the sentence. The line “Give me my freedom, let my hands go,” from the poem “Al-Atlal” by the poet Ibrahim Nagi and sung by Umm Kulthum, is considered the most suitable text for this experience.
